We Filipino's has a lot of those like.
1. If a spoon fell on the floor, you might have a guy visitor, and if a fork fell then it's a girl.
2. If you are walking and a black cat cross your way, you must not continue to where you were going, cause something bad might happen.
3.You must not sweep the floor at night because you are pushing your good luck away.
4.Don't sleep after taking a bath, cause you will be blind.
5. When the clock strikes exactly at 12 on new year, you will be taller if you jump.
7. If a dog keeps howling every midnight
someone will die.
8. when a butterfly goes in your house,
someone that pass away is visiting you.
9. A bride must not try to wear her gown before the wedding,
10. If you dream that all your teeth is falling, someone from your family will die.
so to prevent you must bite a wood.
and a whole Lot more, few of that is still practice now. but the negative ones are not.
even it is annoying sometimes, we still follow, because it becomes a part of our Filipino culture, and there is nothing we can loose if we follow.
